Marking Civil Services Day, the
Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department of the Government of
Odisha convened a high-level meeting to chart its reform roadmap, reaffirming a
strong commitment to citizen-centric governance and responsive public service
delivery.
Held at Kharabela Bhawan, the
meeting was chaired by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, H&UD
Department and Chairperson, IDCO. Senior officials of the Department
participated in the deliberations, focusing on strengthening governance
frameworks and enhancing service efficiency.
The discussions revolved around
key policy priorities, with a clear emphasis on streamlining administrative
processes, improving transparency, and leveraging institutional mechanisms to
better address citizens’ needs. The Department highlighted the importance of
aligning governance practices with evolving public expectations in a rapidly
urbanising state.
Addressing the officers, Padhee
said, “Civil Services Day is an occasion to renew our collective resolve to
serve with integrity, empathy, and accountability. Our reform agenda must
translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives by making governance
more accessible, efficient, and responsive.”
Reinforcing the spirit of the
occasion, the Department collectively resolved to intensify efforts towards
people-centric governance, ensuring that public services are closely aligned
with the aspirations of the people of Odisha.
The meeting underscored
H&UD’s sustained focus on reforms that promote accountability, innovation,
and inclusive urban development, positioning the Department as a key driver of progressive
governance in the State.
