PARADIP, OCTOBER 27, 2026

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) organised a series of public outreach programmes, including a ‘Stride for Integrity’ walkathon, a Satarkata Rath and street plays, to promote transparency, accountability and ethical conduct as part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations.

The initiatives aimed at sensitising people to the ill effects of corruption and encouraging collective efforts towards building a corruption-free society.

The ‘Stride for Integrity’ walkathon was flagged off by PPA Chief Vigilance Officer R. N. Abanikanta Parida, carrying the message of PPA Chairperson Susanta Kumar Purohit. The walkathon began at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue in Paradip and proceeded to the PPA Officers’ Club and Township.

PPA officials and employees, CISF personnel, port users, school students and local residents participated enthusiastically in the event, underscoring the importance of public participation in promoting integrity and ethical practices.

The participants spread the message that combating corruption requires transparency in public dealings, adherence to ethical values and a shared sense of responsibility among citizens and institutions.

The Satarkata Rath was also deployed as part of the awareness drive to reach a wider section of the public and encourage people to actively contribute to the creation of a corruption-free society.

Adding a cultural dimension to the campaign, the cultural organisation CANMASS staged street plays titled “Epata Dekh, Sepate Dekh” at two locations in Paradip — near the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue and at Kabarkhana Market.

Through engaging storytelling and dramatic performances, the street plays highlighted the detrimental impact of corruption and stressed the need for ethical behaviour, accountability and collective action to prevent corrupt practices.

The programmes reaffirmed Paradip Port Authority’s commitment to strengthening a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability in public service.

Through such public engagement initiatives, the port authority seeks to raise awareness about vigilance and encourage citizens and stakeholders to work together towards a transparent, accountable and corruption-free society.
