“Republic Day is a powerful reminder of the ideals that guide our nation’s progress,” said Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, as the company marked India’s 77th Republic Day with inclusive celebrations across its operations, bringing together employees, families, students and local communities in a shared expression of national pride and unity.

Celebrated this year under the theme “150 Years of Vande Mataram (Swatantrata ka Mantra)”, the Republic Day commemorations at Vedanta Aluminium honoured the historic national song and its enduring role in India’s freedom struggle. Reflecting the spirit of unity and collective responsibility, the celebrations underscored the company’s strong community connect and people-centric culture.

Across Vedanta Aluminium’s key operations at Jharsuguda and Lanjigarh, the day was marked by leadership-led flag hoisting ceremonies, coordinated parades and vibrant tableau presentations conceptualised and executed by employees from various departments. Cultural performances by employees’ children and students of DAV Vedanta International School added colour and enthusiasm to the celebrations, while a special canine presentation by the security team at Lanjigarh highlighted discipline and preparedness.

The Republic Day observances extended beyond the workplace into neighbouring communities and mining regions, reinforcing Vedanta Aluminium’s inclusive approach. At the company’s mines, extensive school and community engagement programmes were organised. In the Sijimali periphery, sweet packets were distributed to 28 schools, benefiting more than 3,500 children. Meanwhile, the Jamkhani and Ghogharpalli teams, supported by employee volunteers, reached nine schools and 17 Anganwadi Centres with sports trophies, certificates and refreshment boxes, positively impacting over 1,800 students, teachers and community members.

India’s largest aluminium producer, Vedanta Aluminium plays a critical role in supplying high-quality aluminium to key industries nationwide while simultaneously driving regional development. Through sustained employment generation, social initiatives, planned residential clusters and the growth of local enterprises around its operations, the company has created a strong multiplier effect. Strategic investments in infrastructure have further accelerated development, helping integrate once-remote regions into the socio-economic mainstream.

By blending national celebrations with meaningful community engagement, Vedanta Aluminium continues to reaffirm its commitment to contributing responsibly and inclusively to India’s growth story.
