In a significant step towards
improving public health and access to safe drinking water, the Sathyasai Seva
Organisations, Odisha, on Sunday inaugurated the Sai Nirmal Jhar project at
Biswali village in Paradip. Implemented with the support of the Paradip Port
Authority (PPA) under its CSR initiative, the project aims to provide
fluoride-free drinking water to local communities, reinforcing a broader
statewide mission to ensure clean and safe water for all.
The project was inaugurated by PPA
Chairman P.L. Haranadh, who highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts
between public institutions and voluntary organisations in addressing
grassroots challenges.
Conceived under the charitable Nirmal
Jhar initiative of the Sathyasai Seva Organisations, the project reflects the
service-oriented vision inspired by Bhagwan Sri Sathyasai Baba. The maintenance
of the facility will be jointly undertaken by the villagers and the Sathyasai
Organisations, ensuring community ownership and long-term sustainability.
The inauguration witnessed
enthusiastic participation from port officials and senior functionaries of the
Sathyasai Seva Organisations, including East Zone and State-level office
bearers, trust conveners, district coordinators and volunteers. Local
leadership comprising the village panchayat sarpanch, social workers, political
representatives and a large number of villagers and beneficiaries also joined
the occasion.
Adding a vibrant cultural flavour, the
people of Biswali welcomed the guests in a grand procession marked by the
blowing of conch shells, traditional Ghoda
Nacha, hulahuli, sankirtan and naudi khela, turning the inauguration into a celebration of service
and community spirit. The PPA Chairman also visited Shri Shri Biswabihari and
Maa Laxmi temples of Biswali village, marking the occasion with reverence and
goodwill.
