Jindal Foundation Chairperson, Shallu Jindal, has been honoured with the ‘CSR Person of the Year’ award at the 19th India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards 2026 for her efforts to improve women’s health, maternal care, nutrition and economic empowerment through community-based initiatives.

The recognition highlights the foundation’s flagship #HerKadam initiative, which has reached communities in more than 2,300 underserved villages through interventions focused on healthcare, nutrition, safe motherhood and economic empowerment.

Under Jindal’s leadership, the initiative has supported more than nine lakh adolescent girls through anaemia screening, treatment and counselling. It has also extended antenatal and postnatal care to over 8.9 lakh expectant and new mothers.

In the area of child nutrition, more than 90 per cent of the children identified as severely malnourished have progressed towards a healthy nutritional status, according to the foundation. Overall, #HerKadam has delivered more than 12 million instances of health and nutrition support.

The summit, held under the theme ‘CSR Enabling Innovation – Bringing Ideas, Technology, Capital and Partnerships Together to Scale Social Impact’, brought together industry leaders and representatives from the corporate and development sectors to discuss ways to strengthen partnerships and scale up social development initiatives.

The award recognises Jindal’s approach to community development, which combines sustained grassroots engagement with integrated interventions for women, adolescent girls and children. Through #HerKadam and its other development programmes, the Jindal Foundation aims to improve community health and expand opportunities for women and girls.
