Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited has strengthened its commitment to community welfare, healthcare and employee well-being through a series of impactful initiatives undertaken across its areas of operation. From voluntary blood donation and support for underprivileged children to flood-relief assistance and enhanced workplace healthcare, the company’s efforts focused on addressing both immediate and long-term community needs.

As part of its healthcare outreach, Shyam Metalics organised Blood Donation Camps at its Jamuria, Mangalpur and CRM units in association with Asansol Blood Bank. The initiatives received strong participation from employees and stakeholders, resulting in the collection of approximately 500 units of blood across the three locations. The collective contribution is expected to support the availability of critical blood resources and help meet life-saving healthcare requirements.

The Jamuria Unit recorded the highest contribution, with approximately 300 units of blood collected, while the Mangalpur Unit contributed another 50 units. A further 150 units were collected through the Blood Donation Camp organised at CRM. The participation across the three facilities highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and the role of employee and community engagement in strengthening healthcare support systems.

The company also extended its community welfare initiatives to an orphan home in Andal, where it organised a welfare programme for children. Lunch was arranged for approximately 35 beneficiaries, while bags were distributed among 25 children. The initiative was aimed at contributing to the children’s well-being and educational needs while fostering meaningful engagement with the local community.

Responding to the challenges faced by flood-affected communities, Shyam Metalics further extended relief assistance to families in Kendrapara, Santhapada and Phirikidandi. The company distributed 400 packets of relief kits across these flood-affected areas, providing essential supplies to families facing difficult circumstances. Overall, approximately 500 packets of relief materials were distributed across flood-affected communities, reflecting the company’s efforts to provide timely support during periods of distress.

Alongside its community-focused initiatives, Shyam Metalics also strengthened its commitment to employee healthcare and workplace safety with the inauguration of a new Occupational Health Centre (OHC) at its plant. The facility is designed to enhance employee healthcare, preventive medical support, emergency preparedness and occupational safety practices. The new centre is expected to facilitate timely medical assistance and reinforce health and safety measures across the workplace.
