TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has strengthened its consumer service infrastructure with the inauguration of its fifth dedicated metering store at Jaleswar in Baleshwar district, marking another step towards making metering services faster, more accessible and transparent for consumers across Northern Odisha.

The new facility was inaugurated by Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, Chief Executive Officer, TPNODL, in the presence of Ranabir Chakraborty, Chief – Business HR, T&D Cluster, Tata Power; Subhadip Raychaudhuri, Chief – Commercial Services & BE; Ramendra Banik, Head – HR, IR & Admin; Sidhartha Roy, SE, Baleshwar, along with other TPNODL officials and key stakeholders.

The Jaleswar facility is part of TPNODL’s strategic plan to establish dedicated metering stores across every division within its licensed area. The initiative began with the inauguration of the first store at Baleshwar, followed by facilities at Joda and Anandpur in Kendujhar district and Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district. More such stores are planned in the coming months.

Speaking at the inauguration, TPNODL CEO Dushyant Kumar Tyagi said, “At TPNODL, we are committed to consumer-centric services and a reliable power network, with safety at the core of our practices. Our metering stores ensure transparent, accessible and efficient metering solutions, enabling on-the-spot verification, faster resolution and enhanced consumer trust.”

Designed as localised service hubs, the metering stores are aimed at addressing consumer requirements related to meters and resolving meter-related queries promptly. A key feature of the Jaleswar facility is its mini testing bench, which enables on-the-spot verification of meter accuracy.

According to TPNODL, the facility is expected to improve transparency in metering services, help reduce billing-related disputes and strengthen consumer confidence by providing faster access to verification and support.

Beyond consumer services, the Jaleswar metering store will serve as a centralised hub for meter and related material management for the Jaleswar Division. It will facilitate systematic storage, movement, tracking, monitoring and capitalization of metering materials, helping improve operational efficiency.

With the addition of Jaleswar, TPNODL is expanding its network of dedicated metering facilities across Northern Odisha, with the broader objective of delivering faster, more reliable and consumer-centric power distribution services.
