Subhadra Yojana 5th instalment on track as Odisha Govt sets July 25 deadline for field verification

Preparations for the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana have gathered pace, with Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida directing district authorities to complete all pending field enquiries by July 25 to ensure seamless disbursement of financial assistance on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Friday, Parida instructed all district administrations to expedite the verification and disposal of applications referred for field enquiry. She also directed officials to monitor the progress on a daily basis to ensure that all pending cases are resolved well before the release of the fifth instalment.

According to official data reviewed during the meeting, a total of 1,15,75,633 applications have been registered under the flagship scheme. During the 2026-27 financial year, 3,17,966 fresh applications have been received. Following scrutiny and eligibility assessment, 1,02,04,396 women were initially identified as potential beneficiaries for the fifth instalment. After district-level verification confirmed the deaths of 5,277 beneficiaries, the final list of 1,01,99,119 eligible women has been prepared for the upcoming disbursement.

The review meeting assessed the progress of critical preparatory activities, including Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) activation, biometric e-KYC, field enquiries, NPCI mapping, payment file preparation and coordination with banking institutions. Stressing the importance of timely execution, the Deputy Chief Minister called for swift disposal of pending cases and close coordination among all stakeholders to complete the process within the stipulated timeline.

Reviewing the scheme's overall performance, officials informed the meeting that ₹20,648.63 crore has so far been transferred through DBT into the bank accounts of more than one crore women beneficiaries across four instalments. Additionally, 2,68,396 grievances registered under the scheme have been successfully resolved.

Emphasising transparent, timely and error-free implementation, Parida directed officials to ensure complete preparedness at every level for the smooth release of the fifth instalment. She underscored the need for effective coordination among field-level functionaries, the departments concerned, technical agencies and banking institutions to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the assistance without delay.

The meeting also reviewed the current status of applications and discussed the future course of action under the Subhadra Yojana. Director of the Women and Child Development Department Monisha Banerjee, along with senior officials from the Mission Shakti Department, Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and other departments, attended the review meeting.
