Reinforcing its commitment to diversity, inclusion and gender equity, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms on Thursday announced the launch of the second edition of ‘ନୂଆ ଆରମ୍ଭ’ (Nua Aarambha – A New Beginning), a flagship career comeback initiative aimed at enabling women professionals on a career break to restart and redefine their professional journeys. Building on the encouraging response to its inaugural edition, the programme seeks to create meaningful, future-ready opportunities for women across Odisha’s power distribution ecosystem.

The initiative reflects Tata Power’s sustained focus on inclusive growth by offering women a structured pathway back into the workforce with confidence and purpose. ‘Nua Aarambha’ invites applications from eligible women candidates for roles across all four Tata Power-led Odisha DISCOMs — TPCODL, TPNODL, TPSODL and TPWODL — which together manage electricity distribution across the state under a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha. Through this platform, women professionals are encouraged to re-enter the sector and contribute actively to its evolving demands.

The success of the programme’s first edition has set a strong foundation for its expansion. Last year, eight women professionals were successfully onboarded across key functions within the Odisha DISCOMs, demonstrating both the demand for such an initiative and its effectiveness. Encouraged by these outcomes, the 2026 cohort will be selected through a structured and transparent screening process aligned with the recruitment policy, with emphasis on eligibility, relevant experience and role suitability. Selected candidates will be offered opportunities across diverse functions, including Operations & Maintenance, Commercial and Customer Services, and Information Technology, among others.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official link https://forms.gle/a7Y6uj16HyZgR48n9, after which shortlisted applicants will progress through subsequent stages of evaluation as per the defined process. The programme is designed not only to facilitate re-entry into the workforce but also to support long-term professional growth within the organisation.

Sharing her experience from the first edition, Subhadini Oram, who was selected last year and is currently working with the CCG and Engineering department at TPCODL, said, “‘Nua Aarambha’ gave me an opportunity not just to return, but to grow. From the very beginning, the process was structured and encouraging. Working in the CCG and Engineering department has helped me sharpen my skills and re-build my professional identity with renewed energy.”

Through the continued rollout of ‘Nua Aarambha’, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms reaffirm their resolve to create inclusive career pathways, empower women professionals to reclaim their careers, and strengthen their participation in Odisha’s growth story while building a more resilient and diverse power sector workforce.
