Tata Power
Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has crossed a landmark 10 GW in engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) project execution, reinforcing its
leadership in India’s rapidly expanding clean energy ecosystem. A subsidiary of
The Tata Power Company Limited, TPREL’s latest milestone underscores its
growing scale, execution strength and pivotal role in supporting the country’s
energy transition.
The company
has commissioned 10 GW of EPC projects to date, comprising 9.7 GW of solar and
290 MW of wind capacity. This portfolio includes 4.2 GW of in-house projects
and 5.8 GW executed for third-party clients, reflecting TPREL’s dual strength
as both a developer and a trusted EPC partner.
During the
first nine months of FY26, TPREL commissioned 1.88 GW of renewable energy
capacity, marking a robust 33 per cent growth over the 1.4 GW installed in the
corresponding period of FY25. The strong performance highlights the company’s
seamless execution capabilities, rigorous project management practices and
steadfast focus on quality and safety standards.
Of the total
capacity added during this period, 1,329 MW of solar projects were completed
for third-party clients, while 546 MW was commissioned for in-house renewable
energy projects, including 187 MW of wind and 359 MW of solar. These projects
were executed across multiple locations in five states, often under challenging
soil conditions and adverse climatic environments, demonstrating TPREL’s engineering
depth and on-ground execution agility.
The momentum
accelerated further in the third quarter of FY26, when TPREL achieved its
highest-ever quarterly addition of 941 MW. This represents a sharp 139 per cent
increase over the 393 MW installed in Q3FY25. Key projects commissioned during
the quarter included DCR-compliant solar projects for NHPC, NLC and SJVNL in
Bikaner, Rajasthan, along with a 187 MW wind project in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
Backed by
advanced engineering practices, a resilient supply chain and strong vendor
partnerships, TPREL has consistently delivered large-scale projects while
optimising costs and timelines. As of now, the company’s total utility-scale
operational capacity stands at 6.0 GW, comprising 4.8 GW of solar and 1.2 GW of
wind.
Looking
ahead, TPREL plans to commission an additional 0.75 GW of utility-owned
capacity during FY26, further strengthening its clean energy footprint across
the country.
