Tata Steel’s
Khondbond Iron Mine in Odisha has been conferred with the 1st Runner-Up award
in the Large Scale Mining Sector category at the SHE Excellence Awards 2025-26,
organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern Region, in
Kolkata.
Located in the Joda
region of Kendujhar district, Khondbond Iron Mine was recognised for its
efforts in maintaining high standards of safety, occupational health and
environmental management.
Abhishek Singh,
Senior Area Manager (Excavation), and Jivitesh Kumar Anokhe, Area Manager
(Safety), received the award on behalf of Tata Steel at a function held in
Kolkata.
The recognition
highlights the company’s focus on strengthening safety practices and
operational excellence across its mining operations.
Khondbond Iron Mine
has implemented a range of initiatives encompassing safety systems, proactive
risk management, employee engagement and continuous improvement, aimed at
promoting responsible mining practices.
The award also adds
to Tata Steel’s efforts to advance safety standards and sustainable practices
across its mining and mineral value chain.
The CII SHE
Excellence Awards recognise organisations for their practices and initiatives
in safety, occupational health and environmental management.
