Tata
Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting and
business solutions, on Wednesday announced a strategic collaboration with
semiconductor major AMD to accelerate AI adoption at scale, helping enterprises
move decisively from experimentation to full-scale deployment while modernising
legacy environments and building secure, high-performance digital workplaces.
The
collaboration brings together TCS’ deep domain expertise, systems integration
strengths and global innovation ecosystem with AMD’s leadership in
high-performance computing and AI product portfolios. Together, the two companies
aim to co-develop industry-specific AI and Generative AI solutions that can
modernise hybrid cloud and edge environments, enable AI-powered workplace
transformation and accelerate innovation across cloud-to-edge workloads.
As part of the
alliance, TCS will rapidly upskill and certify its associates on advanced AMD
hardware and software technologies, jointly investing in talent to build a
strong pool of experts capable of co-innovating and delivering next-generation
AI solutions. The partnership also envisages the development of
industry-specific GenAI frameworks for critical sectors such as life sciences,
manufacturing and banking, financial services and insurance, covering areas
including drug discovery, cognitive quality engineering, smart manufacturing
and intelligent risk management.
The
collaboration will further deliver tailored accelerators, frameworks and best
practices designed to boost AI performance across both training and inference
workloads, enabling enterprises to unlock the full potential of AI across
business operations.
Commenting on
the partnership, K. Krithivasan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
of Tata Consultancy Services, said the collaboration marks a significant
milestone in scaling AI for enterprises worldwide. By combining TCS’ industry
expertise with AMD’s high-performance computing capabilities, he said,
organisations would be empowered to transition from AI pilots to large-scale
deployment, co-create industry-specific GenAI solutions and modernise hybrid
cloud and edge environments. He added that the partnership reinforces TCS’
ambition to build future-ready enterprises and advance its goal of becoming the
world’s largest AI-led technology services company.
AMD Chair and
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Lisa Su said AI adoption is accelerating rapidly and
unlocking its full potential requires both high-performance computing at scale
and deep industry collaboration. She noted that AMD’s open, end-to-end compute
foundation, combined with TCS’ enterprise expertise, will help customers
translate AI innovation into tangible growth opportunities across industries.
Under the
collaboration, TCS will integrate Ryzen CPU-powered client solutions to drive
workplace transformation, while leveraging AMD EPYC CPUs, AMD Instinct GPUs and
AI accelerators to modernise hybrid cloud and high-performance computing
environments. AMD’s embedded computing portfolio will also support edge
innovation, inference and industrial digitalisation through adaptive
system-on-chips and field-programmable gate arrays.
With TCS’
proven capabilities in designing customised solutions powered by advanced
semiconductors and AMD’s cutting-edge platforms, the partnership is positioned
to create a strong foundation for co-innovation. The jointly developed AI and
computing solutions are expected to help enterprises adapt faster and more
effectively to the demands of the AI era, turning technology innovation into
sustainable competitive advantage.
