TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited
(TPCODL) celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great patriotic fervour,
reaffirming its commitment to nation-building, consumer empowerment and
sustainable development. The national flag was ceremoniously hoisted by Arvind
Singh, Chief Executive Officer, TPCODL, at the corporate office in the presence
of senior officials and employees, creating an atmosphere of pride, unity and
collective purpose.
The celebration went beyond ceremonial
observance, reflecting TPCODL’s vision of aligning national values with
progressive action on the ground. A key highlight of the occasion was the
felicitation of 30 ‘Green Champions’ — environment-conscious consumers who have
adopted rooftop solar solutions under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
through the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model. These consumers, each having
installed 1 kW rooftop solar systems, have successfully availed government
subsidies and achieved significant reductions in their electricity bills,
demonstrating the tangible benefits of clean energy adoption.
By choosing renewable power, these
Green Champions have emerged as role models for sustainable living, inspiring
their communities to actively participate in environmental protection and
energy self-reliance. The honoured consumers included five representatives from
each operational circle and five from the corporate office, symbolising
widespread participation across Central Odisha in India’s clean energy
movement.
Addressing the gathering, TPCODL CEO Arvind
Singh underscored the role of citizens in shaping a greener future. He said
that the transition to clean energy begins with informed and responsible
choices, and the Green Champions exemplify how rooftop solar adoption under the
PM Surya Ghar Yojana not only benefits households financially but also strengthens
India’s national clean energy goals. He reiterated TPCODL’s commitment to
enabling and encouraging sustainable initiatives across Central Odisha through
awareness, facilitation and consumer-centric solutions.
The Republic Day celebration served as
a reminder of the constitutional ideals of responsibility and collective
progress, while highlighting TPCODL’s ongoing efforts to promote green energy
adoption, empower consumers and support India’s journey towards a sustainable,
resilient and energy-secure future.
