TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has successfully completed the EHT tower shifting work in Cuttack, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the city’s power distribution infrastructure and reinforcing its readiness to meet future demand. As part of this comprehensive project, two numbers of 33 kV 4-way Ring Main Units (RMUs), along with 10.5 kilometres of underground cable, have been commissioned to enhance the reliability, flexibility and resilience of the power network.

The project has been executed with a forward-looking approach, keeping in view the rapidly growing demand for reliable and uninterrupted electricity in key parts of the city, as well as to support critical infrastructure development. The upgraded system is designed to ensure uninterrupted and stable power supply to major institutions including SCB Medical College and Hospital, Ravenshaw University, National Law University Odisha and Cuttack Railway Station. Reliable electricity supply to these institutions is crucial as they cater to thousands of students, patients, professionals and commuters every single day, making power continuity a vital necessity.

The infrastructure upgrade is set to directly benefit around 7,000 electricity consumers residing in the areas of Tulasipur, Jobra, College Square and Ranihat. With the commissioning of the new RMUs and the extensive underground cable network, consumers in these localities will experience a marked improvement in the reliability of power supply, enhanced operational efficiency and better service continuity, especially during peak demand and adverse weather conditions.

TPCODL continues to sharpen its focus on strengthening its distribution network through the adoption of modern infrastructure, advanced technology and strategically planned projects aimed at meeting the increasing electricity demand of fast-growing urban centres. The company remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring safe, reliable and high-quality power supply to its consumers while actively contributing to the overall development and economic growth of the region.

Through such forward-looking initiatives, TPCODL aims to build a robust, resilient and future-ready power distribution system that not only supports essential services and urban infrastructure development but also effectively addresses the evolving needs of consumers across its operational areas, reinforcing its role as a key enabler of progress.
