TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has intensified its grassroots outreach to promote rooftop solar adoption by organising a Seva Setu Camp at Baranga Block Office in Cuttack district under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

The camp, held on Saturday, was inaugurated by Niali MLA Chhabi Malik in the presence of the Block Development Officer (BDO), Baranga, senior officials from TPCODL’s Renewable Energy (RE) Cell and other employees of the power distribution company.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about rooftop solar installations and facilitate wider participation in the government’s flagship scheme, which seeks to expand access to clean energy among households.

Through the Seva Setu Camps, consumers are being provided on-the-spot registration assistance, information on government subsidies, guidance on bank loans and financing options, and support in selecting authorised vendors for rooftop solar installations.

Launched on September 17 to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will continue until October 17, with a focus on bringing scheme-related information and assistance closer to consumers at the grassroots level.

TPCODL has recorded more than 79,000 rooftop solar installations across its operational area and is stepping up community engagement to encourage more households to embrace solar energy.

The company said the outreach initiative reflects its commitment to making rooftop solar solutions more accessible and enabling consumers across Central Odisha to benefit from clean, sustainable energy.

By facilitating access to information, financial assistance and installation-related guidance, the Seva Setu Camps are expected to help address consumer concerns and accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
