Odisha’s
ambitious roadmap for a modern, consumer-centric and sustainable energy
ecosystem came into sharp focus with the inauguration of the Energy Department
pavilion at the ongoing CII Enterprise Odisha Conclave in Rourkela. The
pavilion was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, marking a key
moment in the state’s efforts to align policy, technology and consumer
empowerment in the power sector.
Among the
key participants, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) emerged as a
strong highlight, leveraging the high-profile platform to showcase its
consumer-focused initiatives and its close alignment with the Government of
Odisha’s energy vision.
The
inauguration ceremony was attended by Bhawani Shankar Bhoi, Deputy Speaker of
the Odisha Legislative Assembly; Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister for Industries,
Skill Development and Technical Education; Durgacharana Tanti, MLA,
Raghunathpali; Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha,
along with senior officials, industry leaders and stakeholders.
Through
interactive displays and structured awareness sessions at the pavilion, TPCODL
engaged directly with visiting consumers and industry participants, underlining
its commitment to transparency, efficiency and sustainability in power distribution.
The company spotlighted the transformative benefits of Smart Metering, which
enhances billing accuracy, real-time consumption tracking and service
responsiveness, while also promoting the PM Solar ULA Model as a pathway for
consumers to adopt clean and renewable energy solutions. These initiatives
reflect TPCODL’s broader strategy to empower consumers, improve service
delivery and support Odisha’s transition towards a greener energy future.
The
Enterprise Odisha Conclave, now in its 25th edition, has evolved into a
landmark platform that chronicles and accelerates the state’s industrial growth
story. Over the past two and a half decades, it has played a pivotal role in
shaping policy discourse, fostering industry-government collaboration, empowering
MSMEs and start-ups, and unlocking new investment opportunities across sectors.
TPCODL’s active participation at this milestone edition reinforces its role as
a key stakeholder in Odisha’s development journey.
Speaking on
the occasion, TPCODL CEO Arvind Singh said the conclave offers a vital
opportunity to engage with policymakers, industry leaders and consumers on the
future of energy. He noted that TPCODL’s presence at the Energy Department
pavilion reflects the company’s unwavering focus on consumer awareness and
sustainable development. By showcasing initiatives such as Smart Metering and
the PM Solar ULA Model, he said, TPCODL aims to drive greater transparency,
enhance service quality and encourage the adoption of clean energy solutions,
while continuing to work closely with the Government of Odisha to build a
resilient, efficient and future-ready power distribution ecosystem for the
state.
