LANJIGARH, JANUARY 3, 2026

Reinforcing its commitment to community well-being and public health, Vedanta Aluminium’s Lanjigarh operations organised a voluntary blood donation drive that culminated in the collection of 247 units of blood, offering a critical lifeline to patients across Kalahandi district. The camp, held in collaboration with the Odisha Blood Centre, Bhawanipatna, saw spirited participation from employees, business partners and members of the local community.

The successful drive underscored Vedanta Lanjigarh’s sustained focus on strengthening healthcare services in the region, with community welfare remaining integral to the company’s growth journey. The initiative not only addressed immediate medical needs but also highlighted the collective resolve to support a robust and responsive healthcare ecosystem in Odisha’s tribal heartland.

Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO, Vedanta Alumina Business, said, “This successful blood donation drive is a testament to our core philosophy: the health of the community is the wealth of the region. Our commitment to our community extends far beyond our operational boundaries. We are strategically invested in elevating the quality of life across healthcare, education, and infrastructure, ensuring sustainable progress for Odisha’s tribal heartland.”

Healthcare continues to be a central pillar of Vedanta Lanjigarh’s community outreach. The Vedanta Hospital in the region provides free medical care to more than 67,000 people every year. Through its flagship Project Aarogya, the company conducted over 660 Mobile Health Unit camps during FY 2024–25, delivering doorstep healthcare to more than 20,500 people in remote villages. Preventive healthcare has also received strong emphasis, with 680 awareness sessions on hygiene, wellness and disease prevention reaching around 15,000 people.

By consistently aligning its social initiatives with local needs, Vedanta Lanjigarh has emerged as a responsible development partner in Kalahandi. Working closely with local authorities and community stakeholders, the company continues to drive meaningful interventions across healthcare, education, livelihoods and rural infrastructure, translating sustainable development into a shared reality for Odisha’s tribal communities.
