Chairing an All India Vendor Meet on
the theme “Strengthening Vendor Partnership for Supply Chain Excellence” on
Wednesday, state-run National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO)
Chairman-cum-Managing Director Brijendra Pratap Singh asserted that as the
country witnesses rapid growth across industrial and infrastructure sectors,
the need for technological adoption among vendors has become critical. He urged
them to integrate advanced tools such as AI, automation, and digital solutions
to remain competitive and resilient in the evolving supply chain ecosystem.
“Such adoption is essential not only
for improving efficiency and quality but also for ensuring timely delivery and
resilience within the supply chain ecosystem,” he added.
Highlighting NALCO’s expansion plans
and the rising demand for aluminium, CMD Singh underscored the importance of
onboarding more entrepreneurs, with special emphasis on encouraging
participation from MSMEs and women entrepreneurs to strengthen the supply chain
base.
Reinforcing its commitment to building
robust and future-ready supply chains, NALCO organised the All India Vendor
Meet in Bhubaneswar, bringing together partners from across the country engaged
in the supply of raw materials, spares, consumables, and other essential
inputs.
The meet served as a dynamic platform
for collaboration, aimed at strengthening coordination, enhancing transparency,
and fostering long-term partnerships across the supply chain ecosystem. It
featured presentations and interactive sessions with key stakeholders,
including the National SC-ST Hub under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises, Receivables Exchange of India Limited, and Government
e-Marketplace. Discussions focused on strengthening vendor partnerships, MSME
policy updates, opportunities through TReDS, and leveraging the GeM platform
for efficient procurement.
The programme witnessed the presence
of NALCO’s senior leadership, including Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Director
(Production); Abhay Kumar Behuria, Director (Finance); Anil Kumar Singh,
Director (Commercial); and P. K. Gupta, Director (MSME-DFO). Senior officials
from participating organisations, as well as NALCO, were also present on the
occasion.
More than 100 vendors participated in
the meet and appreciated NALCO’s initiative, describing it as an engaging and
interactive forum that has significantly contributed to fostering stronger
partnerships and improving mutual understanding across the supply chain
network.
