Asia’s largest civil aviation event,
*Wings India 2026*, is poised to emerge as a defining milestone for the global
aviation industry, showcasing India’s rapid rise as a major aviation hub for
connectivity, innovation and sustainable growth, the government said on Sunday.
Scheduled to be held from January 28
to 31 at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad, the mega event will be formally
launched by Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu in the presence of senior
dignitaries and industry leaders from India and abroad. With its unmatched
scale, strategic focus and extensive international participation, Wings India
2026 is expected to draw global attention to the transformation of India’s
civil aviation ecosystem.

The event is set to host over 150
exhibitors, nearly 7,500 business visitors, around one lakh general visitors
and more than 200 foreign delegates. Over 500 business-to-business and
business-to-government meetings are planned, alongside aircraft displays
featuring more than 31 aircraft, underscoring the breadth and ambition of the
platform.
According to the Ministry of Civil
Aviation, the launch will mark the beginning of a landmark global aviation
gathering that will highlight India’s evolution into a key centre for aviation
manufacturing, services, advanced mobility, innovation and sustainability. The
event will also underline the sector’s role as a powerful engine of economic
growth, regional development and global integration.
Over the past decade, India’s civil
aviation sector has witnessed unprecedented expansion. Passenger traffic has
grown multi-fold, placing the country among the world’s top aviation markets.
Indian carriers have inducted hundreds of new aircraft, while record-breaking
aircraft orders have positioned India as one of the largest future aircraft
markets globally.
Airport infrastructure has expanded
rapidly with the development of greenfield airports, modernised terminals and
enhanced regional connectivity under initiatives such as UDAN. India is also
emerging as a strong hub for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, pilot
training, aerospace manufacturing, cargo logistics and advanced air mobility.
A strong push toward sustainable
aviation, including the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel, green airports
and digital air navigation systems, is reshaping the future of flight in the
country.
Wings India 2026 will bring together
policymakers, global CEOs, airlines, airports, OEMs, MROs, lessors, investors,
startups and technology providers, making it one of the most comprehensive
aviation platforms worldwide. Leading global and domestic players, including
Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, HAL, Rolls-Royce, Air India and IndiGo, have confirmed
participation, reflecting India’s growing strategic importance in global
aviation.
