Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said World Radio Day is a celebration of a medium that continues to remain a trusted voice for people across the country, from remote villages to bustling urban centres.

Highlighting the enduring relevance of radio in the digital era, the Prime Minister noted that the medium has consistently delivered timely information, amplified grassroots talent and encouraged creativity among citizens. He said radio has played a vital role in connecting communities and disseminating credible information in an accessible manner.

Reflecting on his monthly broadcast Mann Ki Baat, Modi said the programme has enabled him to witness the power of radio in showcasing the collective strength and inspiring stories of people from different parts of the country. He described the platform as an effective means of bringing local achievements and social initiatives to national attention.

The Prime Minister also announced that the next edition of Mann Ki Baat will be aired on Sunday, February 22, and invited citizens to share their suggestions and inputs for the programme.

In a post on X, Shri Modi reiterated that World Radio Day is an occasion to acknowledge the contributions of all those associated with the medium and to celebrate its role in informing, educating and empowering society.
