Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) reported a stellar start to FY27, with its consolidated net profit more than doubling to ₹1,236.56 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, driven by robust revenue growth across its transmission, distribution and emerging energy solutions businesses. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of ₹538.94 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s total income surged to ₹9,852.20 crore during the April-June period from ₹7,025.49 crore a year earlier, reflecting broad-based growth across its key business segments. Revenue from the transmission business climbed to ₹3,335.26 crore from ₹2,188.19 crore, while the distribution business contributed ₹3,520.43 crore compared with ₹3,359.84 crore in the year-ago quarter. The Energy Solutions Platform emerged as a major growth driver, with revenue soaring to ₹1,906.83 crore from ₹209.71 crore, while the smart metering business expanded sharply to ₹346.99 crore from ₹112 crore.

 “AESL has delivered a robust start to FY27, driven by strong financial performance and continued operational excellence across our core businesses. During the quarter, we further strengthened our growth platform through the proposed acquisition of IntelliSmart, a strategic step towards building India's leading smart metering platform,” said Kandarp Patel, CEO, Adani Energy Solutions.

He added that the Energy Solutions Platform has now gathered momentum, supported by significant renewable energy tie-ups and growing consumer stack across utilities, Commercial & Industrial and data centre segments. “Backed by a strong project pipeline, disciplined execution and credit discipline, we remain well positioned to drive sustainable growth and create long-term stakeholder value,” he noted.

AESL said its transmission business has a robust project pipeline comprising 13 projects worth ₹71,779 crore. The distribution business also maintained steady growth, with Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd’s regulated asset base rising 9.7 per cent year-on-year to ₹10,353 crore. Electricity sales in Mumbai increased 11 per cent to 3,260 million units, while MPSEZ Utility Ltd recorded a 57 per cent rise in units sold to 425 million units, driven by strong industrial and commercial demand.

The company also announced the proposed acquisition of IntelliSmart, which will strengthen its smart metering business and position AESL as India’s largest smart metering platform with a portfolio of more than 47 million smart meters. AESL currently operates the country’s largest private power transmission network, spanning 27,949 circuit kilometres across 16 states with a transformation capacity of 1,23,175 MVA.
