Reinforcing its unwavering
commitment to skill development and women empowerment, the Aditya Alumina
Refinery Project, a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited under the Aditya Birla
Group, has launched the fourth batch of Apparel Training for local girls under
its flagship community initiative, Project KAUSHAL.
The programme was inaugurated by Mazhar Beg, Unit Head and President, on Thursday in the presence of local
leaders, parents of the beneficiaries, nearly 200 villagers, and senior company
officials, including Ramesh Chandra Duvvada, Head–Construction; P. K. Padhi,
Head–Admin & Security; Basudev Rao Ghanta, AVP–Process & Projects;
Deepak Mohanty, Head–HR, IR & CSR; Madhumalaya Dwibedy, Safety & Fire
Head; and Tanmay Mohanty, Project Manager–CSR & R&R.
Under this latest batch, 24
local girls, predominantly from tribal communities, have been selected for
intensive Apparel training. With this addition, Project KAUSHAL has so far
transformed the lives of 90 young women, equipping them with employable skills
and opening pathways to financial independence.
The selected trainees will
undergo a comprehensive two-year full-time Apparel training programme at ABLBL,
Bhubaneswar, with complete boarding and lodging facilities. Designed to meet
industry requirements, the course will provide hands-on practical exposure and
market-relevant expertise, significantly enhancing their employability in the
apparel sector.
Addressing the gathering,
Mazhar Beg emphasized that Project KAUSHAL is aimed at creating sustainable
livelihood opportunities by empowering local youth, particularly tribal girls,
with industry-aligned skills. He noted that the enthusiastic participation of
parents, community leaders, and villagers reflects the growing trust and
confidence in the company's developmental initiatives.

region by fostering skill enhancement, promoting women's empowerment, and
driving inclusive socio-economic progress.
