LAPANGA, APRIL 1, 2026

Reinforcing its commitment to community welfare, the Lapanga Unit of Aditya Aluminium has launched the Jal Vahini Project under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to address acute drinking water scarcity during the peak summer months. The project was inaugurated at Bomaloi Gram Panchayat under Rengali Block, aiming to ensure uninterrupted access to safe drinking water for people in surrounding rural areas.

Recognising the severe water challenges faced by nearby villages during summer and responding proactively to community requests, Aditya Aluminium has initiated the Jal Vahini programme to supply potable water through dedicated tankers for a period of 90 days. The initiative will benefit residents across 23 villages and 126 hamlets spread over seven gram panchayats, ensuring doorstep delivery of safe drinking water and easing seasonal hardships faced by local communities.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials of Aditya Aluminium, including Unit Head Jagannath Prasad Nayak, HR Head Vinoda Nanda Thakur, CPP Head Gulshan Tiwari, Smelter Plant Head Sandeep Singh, Suresh Das, Civil Head Ranjit Kumar, Manoj Sharma, Nil Madhav Pati, CSR Head Ravi Niwas and Manoranjan Behera, along with members of the Civil and CSR teams and local people. The dignitaries ceremonially flagged off the water tanker, marking the formal launch of the initiative.

The event was also graced by Rengali Block Chairman Satyanarayan Agrawal, Bomaloi Sarpanch Saraswati Pradhan, former Sarpanch Sheshdev Pradhan and other Panchayat representatives, reflecting strong community participation in the initiative.

On the same occasion, Aditya Aluminium further strengthened its community development efforts with the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Subhadra Shakti Kendra at Lapanga Panchayat by Lapanga Samiti Member Kiran Behera, in the presence of women Self-Help Group members. The upcoming centre will function as a training and livelihood hub for SHG women, promoting skill development and income-generating activities to enhance economic empowerment.

Through such initiatives, Aditya Aluminium continues to demonstrate its sustained commitment to improving the quality of life in its peripheral communities by addressing critical needs and fostering inclusive development.
