Reinforcing its commitment to
environmental sustainability and climate responsibility, Aditya Aluminium
marked World Environment Day 2026 with a series of impactful initiatives
centred on the global theme, “A Global Call for Climate Action.” The
celebrations brought together employees, township residents, children, industry
leaders, and environmental officials in a collective effort to promote
sustainable living and environmental stewardship.
The programme was inaugurated in the
presence of senior company officials and representatives from the Odisha State
Pollution Control Board (OSPCB), including Unit Head Jagannath Nayak, OSPCB Regional
Officer Dr. Satya Narayan Nanda, Aditya Aluminium VP–CPP Operations Nimai
Mahapatro, Environment Head Lalit Charan, and other members of the plant
leadership team. Senior OSPCB officials - Rakesh Panda, Assistant Environmental
Engineer; Manoranjan Pradhan; Assistant Environmental Scientist; and A. Kusum
Minz, Deputy Environmental Scientist - also participated in the event,
underscoring the importance of industry-government collaboration in advancing
environmental goals.
A major highlight of the celebration
was the Cyclothon and Walkathon organised to spread awareness about climate
change, sustainable lifestyles, and the need for collective environmental
action. Participants from diverse age groups enthusiastically joined the
initiative, reflecting a growing community commitment towards greener
practices.
As part of the programme, participants
took the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) Pledge, reaffirming their
resolve to adopt environmentally responsible habits and contribute towards a
sustainable future.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Satya
Narayan Nanda stressed the urgency of combating climate change through
collective action, responsible resource management, and sustainable
development. He called upon individuals, industries, and institutions to work
together in safeguarding the environment for future generations.
The event concluded with a renewed
pledge by all stakeholders to strengthen environmental conservation efforts and
support climate-resilient development.
Through such initiatives, Aditya
Aluminium continues to foster environmental awareness, encourage sustainable
practices, and contribute meaningfully to national and global efforts aimed at
building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
