Altos Computing Ltd, an Acer Group company, has announced a strategic partnership with Industry.AI, part of the BLP Group, to deploy YodaEdge, a secure, scalable and sovereign edge AI platform aimed at bringing real-time artificial intelligence directly to industrial and urban environments across India. Powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing, YodaEdge is designed to help manufacturers, MSMEs and infrastructure operators operationalise AI at the point of action, reinforcing India’s ambition to build a resilient, manufacturing-led economy.

As India moves towards its $7 trillion economic vision, the contribution of manufacturing, MSMEs and critical infrastructure to productivity, exports and employment continues to grow. However, AI adoption in these sectors has remained constrained by dependence on cloud infrastructure, latency issues, data security concerns and the complexity of deploying AI in real-world industrial settings. Built for factory floors and distributed infrastructure, YodaEdge™ supports a range of high-impact applications, including computer vision-based safety monitoring for real-time detection of unsafe conditions and PPE non-compliance, predictive maintenance models that analyse machine behaviour to reduce unplanned downtime, and AI-powered knowledge assistants that provide instant access to standard operating procedures, manuals and historical maintenance data at the point of use. Industry benchmarks suggest AI-led safety systems can reduce incidents by up to 70 per cent, while predictive maintenance can cut downtime by as much as 50 per cent.

The platform is also positioned to accelerate AI adoption among India’s MSMEs, which contribute more than 35 per cent of GDP and nearly half of manufacturing output.
