ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) marked
International Yoga Day with guided yoga sessions across its Odisha operations
in alignment with this year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” The
initiative, undertaken as part of the company’s wellness programme, “Wellness
Revolution 2.0 – STEELing Your Health,” reaffirmed AM/NS India’s commitment to
the holistic well-being of employees, associates, and community members while
promoting harmony of mind and body.
As part of its CSR initiatives, AM/NS India organised a Yoga
Day celebration at Govinda Chandra High School, Nuagarh, Paradeep, where around
200 students and teachers participated in a mass yoga session. Prasant Kumar
Mohapatra, Headmaster of Govinda Chandra High School, highlighted yoga’s
significance as an ancient Indian practice that nurtures physical, mental, and
spiritual well-being through postures, pranayama, and meditation. Shri Susant
Kumar Sahoo, a renowned yoga teacher, conducted a live session, guiding
students through various asanas and breathing exercises.
In addition, the CSR team of AM/NS Ports conducted yoga
sessions at Lockpada Primary School and Maa Ambika High School in Paradeep.
More than 250 students enthusiastically participated in asanas and meditation
practices. The event concluded with a collective pledge to make yoga a regular
part of daily life.
At the Paradeep Pellet Plant complex, International Yoga Day
was observed under the guidance of Tapas Ranjan Pati, Certified Yoga Trainer.
The programme was attended by AM/NS India leaders, including Sunila Das, Head –
HR & IR, Odisha Asset, and Rajarshi Sinha, Head – Captive Power Plant. The
leaders underscored the role of yoga in achieving mental peace and maintaining
a healthy balance between personal and professional life. Employees and
associates participated enthusiastically, creating an atmosphere of
mindfulness, positivity, and well-being.
Similarly, a special yoga session was organised at the Dabuna
Beneficiation Plant in Keonjhar, with enthusiastic participation from
employees. The session focused on joint pain relief, workplace ergonomics,
full-body fitness, and pranayama practices. Conducted by in-house trainer Rasmirani
Parida, the programme was attended by Jaiwardhan Paroha, Head – Dabuna
Beneficiation Plant, AM/NS India, along with department heads and employees.
At the Ore Club in the Mining Division, employees and
associates participated in a yoga session led by an external trainer. On the
occasion, Shri Amit Dubey, Head – Mining Operations, highlighted yoga’s growing
relevance in today’s fast-paced world, while Dr. Murali Sahoo, Head – HR,
Mining, encouraged participants to embrace yoga as a way of life for healthier
and more productive living.
At the Bhubaneswar office, International Yoga Day was observed in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari. The programme was graced by Dr. Debabrata Dash, Head – HR (East), who emphasized the importance of yoga in promoting physical health, mental clarity, and overall well-being. Employees actively participated in the session and learned the fundamentals of yoga practice.
Through these celebrations across its Odisha locations, AM/NS India reinforced its vision of fostering healthier lifestyles and nurturing a culture of balance, positivity, and resilience among employees, associates, and community members.
