As India accelerates investment in infrastructure, advanced
manufacturing, energy, transportation and heavy engineering, the demand for
high-performance steel solutions that combine strength, durability and
efficiency is rising rapidly. Responding to this evolving need, ArcelorMittal
Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has launched STRUCTROMAX and WELDSTAR, two
next-generation heavy steel plate brands engineered to support demanding
applications across India’s industrial and infrastructure landscape.
Developed at AM/NS India’s state-of-the-art plate mill
facility at Hazira, the new products leverage advanced rolling and
heat-treatment technologies, backed by stringent metallurgical and
quality-control processes. The solutions are designed to deliver enhanced
performance, reliability and fabrication efficiency across critical
applications.
STRUCTROMAX is engineered using Thermo-Mechanical Controlled
Processing (TMCP) technology for demanding applications including bridges,
high-rise buildings, offshore structures, railways, wind energy projects and
other heavy-duty infrastructure. The product offers a combination of superior
weldability, toughness, load-bearing capacity, corrosion resistance and
fabrication performance, helping engineers and project developers build robust
structures capable of withstanding demanding operating and climatic conditions.
WELDSTAR, meanwhile, is a range of ultra-high-strength steel
plates designed to help manufacturers optimize structural weight while
enhancing payload capacity, fuel efficiency and overall lifecycle economics.
Targeted at applications such as cranes, mining equipment, transportation
systems, offshore projects and other critical sectors, WELDSTAR can enable
lighter, stronger and more efficient equipment without compromising safety or
durability.
