BHUBANESWAR, SEPTEMBER 2, 2026

In a strategic move aligned with India's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, health and wellbeing major Amway India on Wednesday announced a major expansion into the Ayurveda segment with the launch of Nutrilite Ayurveda, unveiling nine innovations and setting an ambitious target of building the category into a Rs 100 crore business over the next two years.

The move comes amid growing consumer preference for plant-based and preventive approaches to health and wellness, alongside the government's sustained efforts to strengthen the AYUSH ecosystem and position Ayurveda as an integral part of India's healthcare and wellness landscape.

The company said the new portfolio would combine the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda with modern scientific validation, creating a wellness proposition that is "Made in India, for India", while holding potential to take India's traditional wellness offerings to global markets.

The products have been developed using Ayurvedic botanicals responsibly sourced from organically cultivated, NutriCert-certified farms and are manufactured at Amway India's state-of-the-art facility in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to the media at the launch, Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director, Amway India, said the growing government focus on AYUSH and Ayurveda-led innovation was creating a strong foundation for traditional wellness to gain greater relevance in India and globally.

"India is witnessing a significant transformation in traditional wellness, driven by the Government of India's visionary focus on strengthening the AYUSH ecosystem and advancing Ayurveda as an integral part of the country's health and wellbeing landscape," Chopra said.

He added that the emerging Ayurveda ecosystem could create new economic opportunities while strengthening India's capabilities in agriculture, manufacturing, scientific research and innovation.

"This momentum aligns seamlessly with Amway India's next chapter of growth and our ambition to contribute meaningfully to India's vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Reflecting our confidence in the immense potential of Ayurveda, we aim to build Nutrilite Ayurveda into a Rs 100 crore category over the next two years," Chopra said.

The company is leveraging more than 90 years of Nutrilite's botanical science expertise, along with a decade of local manufacturing capabilities, to develop the new portfolio.

The first phase of the rollout will introduce three formulations -- Kalamegha, Shigru and Vrikshamla.

Kalamegha is formulated to support healthy liver function, while Shigru, derived from moringa, is positioned to help reduce extra fat deposition and inflammation. Vrikshamla, based on garcinia, is aimed at supporting metabolism and satiety.

Amway said the portfolio has been designed to address a growing consumer demand for authenticity, transparency, traceability and scientific validation in Ayurveda products.

"For Nutrilite Ayurveda, 'Every Herb Has a Story. We Make Sure It's True' is more than a promise. It reflects our commitment to ensuring the quality and traceability of every botanical we offer to consumers so they can embrace Ayurveda with greater confidence," Chopra said.

According to the company, the formulations are backed by Nutrilite's research and development expertise and stringent quality processes, including DNA fingerprinting, active ingredient testing and seed-to-supplement traceability.

The products also undergo multi-step testing for contaminants, heavy metals, microbiological safety and consistency of key marker compounds, which Amway said goes beyond basic regulatory requirements.

The portfolio also includes AYUSH-registered formulations, reinforcing the company's focus on developing products in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework.

The Ayurveda push builds on Amway India's earlier entry into the category with Nutrilite Chyawanprash.

The company said the latest portfolio reflects its broader strategy of validating time-tested Ayurvedic formulations through the same science-backed approach that has underpinned the Nutrilite brand for decades.

The launch also has a wider economic dimension, with Amway seeking to participate in the value chain spanning responsibly sourced botanicals, local agriculture, manufacturing, scientific research, innovation and employment.

The three products -- Kalamegha, Shigru and Vrikshamla -- are priced at Rs 449, Rs 651 and Rs 449, respectively, and will be available from September 8, 2026, through Amway-authorised channels, including Amway Business Owners/Distributors, Amway stores and the company's online platform www.amway.in.
