Amway India, a direct-selling company focused on health and wellbeing, on Tuesday announced plans to expand its physical presence across the country, with several new stores and upgraded experience centres lined up over the next three to four years as it looks to strengthen consumer engagement and support its distributor network.

Michael Nelson, President and Global CEO of Amway, inaugurated the company's new experience centre in Gurugram during his official visit to the city, marking another milestone in its retail expansion strategy.

The expansion builds on the Rs 100 crore investment announced by Nelson last year for multiple initiatives, including strengthening the company's physical presence in India.

The company aims to use these centres as engagement hubs where consumers can explore its product portfolio and access information on health and wellbeing solutions, while distributors can interact with customers, build relationships and develop local communities.

"India is at the heart of Amway's global growth journey," Nelson said, highlighting the changing preferences of Indian consumers, who are increasingly seeking trusted, science-backed health and wellbeing solutions, personalised experiences and greater convenience.

He said the new centres would bring together product discovery, consumer interaction and community engagement, while providing distributors with platforms and tools to expand their businesses.

The Gurugram inauguration reflects the company's long-term confidence in the Indian market and its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and improving consumer experiences, he added.

Amway India Managing Director Rajneesh Chopra said physical presence was an important component of the company's efforts to strengthen its engagement with both consumers and distributors.

"These are not conventional stores; they are engagement hubs designed to give consumers a more direct way to experience Amway while giving our distributors a stronger platform to engage with their customers and build communities," Chopra said.

The company currently operates more than 85 stores across India and has opened or revamped over 14 outlets in recent months in markets including Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Imphal, Bhagalpur, Anand, Ahmedabad, Bongaigaon, Agra and Nanded, among others.

The expansion reflects a strategy to deepen its presence not only in metropolitan centres but also in tier-II and tier-III markets, as the company seeks to broaden consumer access to its products and strengthen its distributor-led business model.

Amway India plans to open or upgrade several more stores across locations over the next three to four years, Chopra said.

He added that the company's retail transformation was part of its long-term commitment to India, with a focus on healthier communities, economic empowerment and wider access to products.

As it approaches three decades of operations in India, Amway said it would continue to focus on strengthening the direct-selling ecosystem through consumer trust, responsible entrepreneurship, innovation and long-term value creation.

The company also said it operates in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements and continues to strengthen governance, compliance and business practices across its operations.

Its physical engagement centres, it said, are intended to provide an environment for product discovery, consumer education and interaction between consumers and distributors as it builds its next phase of growth in the country.
