Bandhan Bank on Monday announced its entry into the credit card segment with the launch of four variants — Sparks, Ignite, Flare and Lumina — in collaboration with Mastercard, as the lender seeks to cater to the evolving spending needs of customers across segments.

The new credit card portfolio marks a significant milestone in Bandhan Bank's journey as a universal bank and has been designed to offer a mix of rewards, travel, lifestyle and entertainment benefits through a digital-first application and servicing experience.

The cards were unveiled in the presence of Bandhan Bank MD and CEO Partha Pratim Sengupta, Mastercard President, India and South Asia, Gautam Aggarwal, Executive Director and Chief Business Officer Rajinder Kumar Babbar, Head-Credit Cards Piush Jha and other senior officials from the two organisations.

Inspired by the enduring flame in Bandhan Bank's logo, which symbolises the lender's commitment to enriching lives, the four-card portfolio has been positioned to serve a wide spectrum of customers, ranging from Gen Z and emerging affluent consumers to frequent travellers and premium lifestyle seekers.

The Sparks card offers accelerated rewards on grocery and apparel spends, along with a welcome reward bonus, domestic airport lounge access, BookMyShow offers, fuel surcharge waiver and EMI cashback benefits.

Ignite comes with accelerated rewards on grocery and travel spends, welcome and milestone rewards, domestic and international airport lounge access and EazyDiner benefits.

The travel-focused Flare card offers an Amazon Pay voucher as a welcome benefit, domestic and international airport lounge access, BookMyShow and EazyDiner benefits, besides golf privileges.

The premium Lumina card provides enhanced rewards on international spends and an Oberoi gift voucher as a welcome benefit. It also offers domestic and international lounge access, concierge and airport meet-and-greet services, BookMyShow and EazyDiner benefits, and golf privileges.

"The launch of Credit Cards marks a significant milestone in our journey as a universal bank. Our new credit card portfolio, launched in collaboration with Mastercard, reflects our commitment to serving the aspirations of a digital-first India, featuring a seamless end-to-end digital application journey and convenient card servicing experience," Sengupta said.

With Sparks, Ignite, Flare and Lumina, the bank has created a comprehensive suite of products catering to a wide spectrum of customers, from Gen Z and emerging affluent consumers to seasoned travellers and premium lifestyle seekers, while offering rewards, convenience and curated benefits at different stages of their financial journey, he added.

Babbar said the launch was another important step in strengthening Bandhan Bank's customer-first product suite.

"With a portfolio designed around diverse spending needs and aspirations, we are bringing together digital convenience, meaningful rewards and relevant lifestyle benefits. We look forward to creating greater value for our customers as we expand our presence in the evolving credit card ecosystem," he said.

Aggarwal said India's credit landscape was evolving rapidly, driven by rising digital adoption, changing consumer expectations and growing demand for differentiated payment experiences.

The collaboration brings together Bandhan Bank's customer reach and Mastercard's global network and capabilities to deliver secure and seamless credit products designed around the diverse needs of consumers, he said.

The bank said customers can apply for the cards through its online platform or by visiting the nearest branch.
