In a major boost to India’s textile and apparel sector, the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris have forged a strategic partnership aimed at deepening textile and apparel trade between India and the European Union while advancing innovation, sustainability, design excellence and global sourcing across the textile value chain.

The collaboration is expected to create fresh opportunities for Indian manufacturers, exporters and designers to strengthen their global footprint, while enabling international brands, buyers and fashion houses to engage more closely with India’s diverse and competitive textile ecosystem. The initiative also seeks to reinforce India’s position as a preferred global sourcing destination.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) by Florence Rousson, Chief Executive Officer, Fashion Division, Première Vision SA, and Naren Goenka, Chairman, Bharat Tex Trade Federation. The LoI was exchanged in the presence of Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh during the inaugural session of Bharat Tex 2026, marking a significant milestone in institutional collaboration between India and France across the textile and apparel value chain.

The agreement comes at a strategically important time following the successful conclusion of negotiations on the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to significantly improve market access and enhance the competitiveness of Indian textile and apparel exporters in European markets.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh said, "This partnership is another significant step in positioning Bharat Tex as a truly global platform. It will help Indian MSMEs, first-time exporters and manufacturers connect with leading European buyers, while showcasing India's strengths as a reliable, innovative and sustainable sourcing destination. It also reinforces India's growing role as a trusted partner in the global textile value chain."

The signing ceremony was witnessed by senior officials of the Ministry of Textiles, representatives of the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, exporters, international buyers, buying houses, sourcing consultants, industry leaders and other key stakeholders from across the textile value chain.

Globally recognised as one of the world's leading textile and fashion sourcing exhibitions, Première Vision Paris serves as a premier platform for trend forecasting, innovation and design excellence. Held twice a year in Paris, the event brings together leading manufacturers, designers, brands, buyers and sourcing professionals from around the world, fostering high-value business engagement, knowledge exchange, sustainable sourcing and the showcasing of cutting-edge materials, technologies and creative developments.

Under the collaboration, Indian manufacturers, MSMEs, exporters and emerging brands will gain access to an internationally acclaimed platform to showcase premium textiles, apparel, accessories, technical textiles, sustainable materials and fashion innovations before leading global buyers, designers and fashion houses. In return, Première Vision and its worldwide network will benefit from enhanced access to India’s integrated textile value chain through Bharat Tex, opening new avenues for sourcing, business partnerships and long-term collaboration. The partnership will also facilitate reciprocal participation at Bharat Tex and Première Vision Paris, strengthen buyer-seller engagement and promote the exchange of trend and design intelligence.

Highlighting the significance of the partnership, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Neelam Shami Rao, said, "The world is choosing to partner with India. Bharat Tex collaborating with Première Vision is creating a structured platform to connect Indian enterprise with international markets, design leadership and emerging global trends. It also advances the Prime Minister's 5F Vision by strengthening India's position as a sourcing and innovation partner for the global textile and apparel industry."

Bharat Tex 2026 is being held from July 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together stakeholders from across the global textile and apparel industry to showcase India’s capabilities and strengthen international partnerships.
