The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Odisha State Council on Thursday announced its new leadership team for 2026-27, and unveiled a comprehensive roadmap aimed at accelerating industrial growth, infrastructure expansion and sustainable development across Odisha.

Anil Kumar Singh, President, JSW Steel Ltd, has assumed office as the Chairman of CII Odisha State Council for the year 2026-27, while Manikanta Naik, Managing Director, Tata Steel SEZ Ltd, has been elected as the Vice Chairman for the same term.

Addressing a press meet in Bhubaneswar, Anil Kumar Singh outlined the Council’s priorities for the coming year, emphasizing that CII Odisha remains focused on catalysing sustainable economic growth through augmentation of infrastructure, strengthening the industrial ecosystem and promoting inclusive social development.

 “CII Odisha remains committed to catalysing sustainable economic growth and development in Odisha through augmentation of infrastructure, strengthening the industrial ecosystem, and promoting inclusive social development. CII envisions Odisha as a globally competitive hub recognized for innovation, inclusivity, and resilience, with a vision to foster job creation, enhance industrial productivity, and promote social well-being in the State by 2036,” he said.

The industry body identified a wide spectrum of strategic growth drivers that will shape its agenda in the coming years. These include Tourism, Innovation & Technology-based Economy, Agriculture, Irrigation & Horticulture, Metals & Mining, Manufacturing, Port-led Development, Fisheries & Aquaculture, Freight and Multi-Modal Logistics, Women-led Growth, Human Capital Development, Empowerment of Tribal and Vulnerable Groups, Healthcare and Nutrition, Arts, Heritage & Sports, Energy Transition, Disaster Resilience and Climate Change.

Manikanta Naik reiterated the Council’s strong emphasis on women empowerment and entrepreneurship development through the CII Indian Women Network (IWN). He also stressed the need to improve industrial productivity and competitiveness through capacity-building initiatives.

 “To improve industrial productivity and competitiveness, CII will organize training programmes and workshops on GST, GEM, Total Quality Management (TQM), and export documentation,” he said.

The State Council further highlighted several policy-focused interventions, including efforts to augment Odisha’s export potential, strengthen linkages between MSMEs and large industries through the MSME Connect Series across the State, promote infrastructure projects with Green Certification, and develop medical tourism through enhanced healthcare facilities and connectivity.

CII Odisha also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Skill Development & Technical Education Department on skill-building initiatives and continuing collaboration with the Government on investment promotion and policy advocacy.

Among its key initiatives for the year ahead, the Council plans to promote tourism through engagement with food and travel bloggers, support export augmentation, and conduct training programmes for officials from Urban Development Departments and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

With a renewed leadership team and a future-focused development agenda, CII Odisha aims to play a pivotal role in strengthening the State’s industrial ecosystem and advancing Odisha’s long-term economic and social development vision.
