Reinforcing its
commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, Dalmia
Bharat Ltd., one of India’s leading cement manufacturers, marked World
Environment Day 2026 in Rajgangpur through a series of impactful awareness and
community engagement initiatives. The celebrations witnessed the enthusiastic
participation of over 200 employees, students, family members and local
residents, fostering collective action towards environmental conservation and
climate responsibility.
As part of the
observance, the company organized a large-scale plantation drive and
environmental awareness campaign focused on climate action and the conservation
of natural resources. More than 1,100 saplings, including native forest species
and fruit-bearing trees, were planted across the plant premises, township areas
and villages surrounding the mining region. The initiative saw active participation
from employees, students, their families and community members.
The celebrations also
featured a range of engaging activities, including drawing and quiz
competitions for students of Dalmia Vidya Mandir (DVM), home gardening and
waste-to-resource contests for township families, and a bird-nesting initiative
aimed at promoting biodiversity. In a unique step to encourage environmental
awareness, the company introduced QR-code-enabled digital displays for trees
planted at the Rajgangpur site, enabling greater engagement with its green
initiatives. Collectively, these programmes inspired community participation
and strengthened a culture of sustainability and responsible environmental
practices.
