In a significant leadership transition, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has appointed Gajanan S. Kale as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will also continue to serve as the Chief of Odisha Distribution Business for Tata Power.

A seasoned power sector professional with more than 34 years of experience, Kale brings deep expertise in power distribution, utility management and organisational leadership. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Nagpur and a management qualification from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

Throughout his distinguished career, Kale has held several key leadership positions across Tata Power’s distribution companies, building a strong track record in operations and maintenance, customer service, commercial management, network engineering, inventory management and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Prior to assuming charge at TPCODL, he served as CEO of TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), Tata Power Ajmer Distribution Limited (TPADL) and Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL).

Speaking on his appointment, Kale said, "I am honoured to take on this responsibility. Together with our employees and stakeholders, we will continue to strengthen power distribution services, enhance customer satisfaction and contribute to Odisha's development journey."

Kale succeeds Arvind Singh, under whose leadership TPCODL achieved notable progress in operational efficiency, customer service delivery and network reliability, helping transform power distribution services across Central Odisha.

TPCODL currently serves a population of around 1.36 crore and caters to 32.96 lakh consumers through an extensive distribution network spread over 29,354 square kilometres. Its operational area encompasses the districts of Bhubaneswar-based Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and parts of Jajpur, making it one of the largest electricity distribution utilities in the state.

With Kale at the helm, TPCODL is expected to further accelerate its efforts towards strengthening network infrastructure, improving service quality and advancing customer-centric power distribution across Central Odisha.
