NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 2, 2026

The government has extended the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme till December 31, 2026, providing continued support to exporters by refunding embedded taxes and duties on shipments and helping them compete in global markets.

The Department of Commerce, through Notification No. 41/2026-27 dated September 30, 2026, said the scheme would continue to cover exports by units in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA), Advance Authorisation holders, Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units and Export Oriented Units (EOUs).

Under RoDTEP, exporters receive remission of embedded and un-rebated central, state and local duties, taxes and levies borne on exported products, including cumulative indirect taxes incurred at prior stages of production and distribution.

The existing RoDTEP rates and value caps notified under Appendix 4R and Appendix 4RE, as applicable on September 30, 2026, will remain unchanged during the extended period.

The continuation of the scheme is aimed at providing greater policy certainty to exporters and supporting India's competitiveness in international markets by offsetting domestic taxes and levies that are not otherwise refunded.

The government said the measure reflects its commitment to supporting exporters and creating a level playing field for Indian products vis-a-vis competing economies in global markets.
