In a significant move aimed at protecting the interests of
students and restoring confidence in the country's examination system, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced the establishment of fast-track
courts to ensure swift justice in cases related to examination paper leaks.
Underscoring the government's commitment to safeguarding the
future of young people, the Prime Minister said that strict legal action would
be taken against those attempting to undermine the integrity of public
examinations.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister shared: "Nothing is
more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set
up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those
involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials
to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps
for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of
our youth will not be spared.”
The Prime Minister said the decision forms part of a broader
series of measures undertaken by the government to protect students' interests
and ensure transparency and accountability in the examination process. He also
directed the concerned authorities and officials to expedite all necessary
steps for implementing the fast-track judicial mechanism.
The announcement comes amid growing concerns over examination paper leaks across the country, an issue that has sparked widespread public debate and demands for stronger legal safeguards.
A day earlier, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda stated that the Centre remains open to discussions with all stakeholders on the examination paper leak issue. He said the government had held talks with representatives of the protesting CJP and had also appealed to activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike and join the "mainstream dialogue process."
