IIT Kanpur clinched
the first and third positions while IIT-BHU emerged runner-up in the regional
round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27 held at NTPC Northern Region
Headquarters here, with 143 teams from 31 leading engineering and management
institutes across Uttar Pradesh participating in the contest.
Aditya Padhi and
Sparsh Jain of IIT Kanpur emerged winners, followed by Ekansh Tyagi and Aryan
Raj of IIT-BHU in second place. Parth Arya Bhat and Waqar Moid of IIT Kanpur
secured the third position.
The top two teams
from the regional round will now advance to the National Semi-Finals, with the
competition culminating in the National Finals in Noida.
The high-energy quiz
kept participants and the audience engaged through the final round, testing
their knowledge, analytical abilities and understanding of business and
management.
Addressing the
gathering, S N Panigrahi, Executive Director (HR), NTPC Northern & Southern
Region, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and said the
NTPC Electron Quiz, since its inception in 2004, has established itself as a
prestigious platform that encourages young minds to think critically, explore
new ideas and apply their knowledge to real-world business and management
challenges.
He said the 2026-27
edition, themed "The World of Business Management", is being
organised across nine regional locations -- Lucknow, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata,
Hyderabad, Ranchi, Noida, Raipur and Patna.
Emphasising the importance of curiosity, innovation and critical thinking in a rapidly changing world, Panigrahi said NTPC remains committed to creating opportunities that inspire young minds to question, learn and contribute towards building a cleaner, smarter and more sustainable future.
The winning teams were felicitated by Panigrahi in the presence of quiz master Gautam Bose, Rahul Sharma, AGM (HR), and senior NTPC officials.
