India and Singapore on Thursday stepped up efforts to deepen
their economic partnership, with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal
holding a series of high-level bilateral and business engagements focused on
trade, investment, technology and new areas of commercial cooperation.
Goyal, who was in Singapore for the engagements, called on
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Istana before participating in
the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) and the fourth
India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR).
The high-level meetings provided a platform for the two sides
to review the growing economic relationship and explore fresh avenues for
mutually beneficial cooperation, followed by an MoU signing ceremony.
The Commerce Minister also held a series of
government-to-business meetings with senior representatives of the global
business and institutional community, including the Global Finance &

The discussions centred on expanding India-Singapore
collaboration in emerging and high-potential areas such as agri-exports,
GCC-based commercial parks, fintech and sustainable infrastructure, according
to an official statement.
Goyal also jointly visited an APEDA-FairPrice initiative at
City Square Mall with Singapore Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade
and Industry Gan Siow Huang. The initiative showcased the growing agricultural
trade between the two countries and expanding market access for Indian products
in Singapore.

Forum organised by FICCI at the INSEAD Asia Campus, where he participated in a
fireside chat on “India in the New Global Growth Equation: Growth and
Opportunity for Businesses in Asia and the World”.
