Sintex, a leading name in water storage solutions, has highlighted its anti-microbial water storage tank, Sintex Pure, as a hygiene-focused option for households during the monsoon season, when the risk of water contamination rises.

The company said increased exposure to pollutants and microbial growth during heavy rains can make stored water vulnerable to contamination. Sintex Pure is designed with anti-microbial technology to help prevent the growth of bacteria, viruses, fungi and algae inside the tank, irrespective of the quality of incoming water.

The tank is lead-free, NSF-certified and made from 100 per cent food-grade virgin plastic. It features a 100 per cent UV-protected outer layer and a UV-protected threaded lid with an anti-microbial inner layer. The product is backed by a 20-year warranty, the company said.

“With rising health concerns and increasing awareness around water quality, consumers need to look beyond durability while choosing water storage solutions,” Yashovardhan Agarwal, MD of Welspun BAPL and Director of Sintex, said.

He said Sintex has focused on promoting safe and responsible water storage through innovation, adding that a water tank is not merely a utility product but an important safeguard for household health.

The company also cautioned consumers against low-grade, recycled plastic tanks, which it said may pose potential health risks through exposure to substances such as BPA and phthalates.

Monsoon-related water contamination is a major public health concern, with heavy rainfall and sewage overflow increasing the risk of waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery and typhoid. Against this backdrop, Sintex said Sintex Pure is aimed at consumers seeking a safer and more hygienic water storage solution for their homes.
