International Tractors Limited (ITL), India’s No. 1 tractor export brand and owner of Sonalika Tractors, is set to establish a landmark 25-acre Global Research & Development Centre in Greater Noida, marking a major expansion of its technology and innovation footprint in Uttar Pradesh and positioning the state as a key base for the company’s next generation of farmer-centric agricultural solutions.

The proposed greenfield facility, envisioned as a global advanced engineering hub, is aimed at developing future-ready technologies for Indian and international markets while bringing engineering capabilities, farmer insights and agricultural innovation under one roof. The initiative follows a meeting between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and ITL management in Lucknow, where the company shared its vision for the next phase of its agricultural innovation journey.

The new centre marks a significant milestone in ITL’s three-decade journey of transforming agriculture through its 'Jeetneka DUM' and is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to develop agri-solutions tailored to the evolving needs of farmers across India and global markets.

The facility will seek to create a powerful ecosystem integrating advanced engineering with on-ground farmer insights, enabling ITL to accelerate the development of technologies aimed at improving agricultural productivity and addressing the changing requirements of modern farming.

The proposed Global R&D Centre is also expected to contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s wider technology and industrial ecosystem through high-value engineering, skill development, employment generation and technology-led industrial advancement. The investment represents a significant step in ITL’s long-term innovation roadmap for the state and reinforces the company’s ambition to build globally competitive agricultural technologies from India.

Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said, “It was an honour to meet Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, and share our vision for ITL’s new 25-acre Global R&D Facility in Greater Noida, UP. This marks a significant step towards shaping the next frontier of agricultural innovation for us at ITL and we are deeply grateful for his encouragement, confidence and inspiring leadership that supports the business ecosystem to flourish. His decisive vision for a progressive, technology-driven Uttar Pradesh inspires us to think bigger, move faster and build for the future.

Our ambition is to create a globally benchmarked institution for agricultural research and innovation - developing technologies that empower farmers, transform agriculture and redefine what is possible. From Uttar Pradesh, for India and the world - we look forward to building the future of farming.”

The Greater Noida facility is expected to become a strategic pillar of ITL’s global innovation strategy, supporting the company’s efforts to develop advanced agricultural technologies and strengthen its presence across international markets.
