The Federation of
Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has announced the appointment
of Jagannath Prasad Nayak, President & Unit Head of Aditya Aluminium, a
unit of Hindalco Industries, as the new Chair of the FICCI Odisha State
Council.
A seasoned
manufacturing and metallurgy professional with an MBA and over 33 years of
diverse industry experience, Nayak brings deep expertise across aluminium
smelting, captive power generation, and downstream manufacturing operations.
Recognised for his technical acumen and strategic leadership, he has played
pivotal roles in enhancing operational excellence, efficiency, and
transformation initiatives across major industrial establishments.
Throughout his
distinguished career, Nayak has been associated with leading aluminium and
metals organisations, including Vedanta Aluminium, Oman Aluminium, Hindalco’s
Hirakud Smelter, Mahan Aluminium, and the company’s aluminium smelter plant at
Renukoot in Uttar Pradesh. His wide-ranging exposure across global and domestic
operations has contributed significantly to advancing innovation-led
manufacturing practices.
Nayak’s excellence has been recognised through several prestigious honours, including the Young Metallurgist of the Year Award 2006 conferred by the Ministry of Mines, the ABG Chairman’s Individual Exceptional Contributor Award 2014, and the Manufacturing Transformation Champion of the Year Award 2024 by Frost & Sullivan.
Sanjaya Satapathy, CHRO of Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the FICCI Odisha State Council. His leadership experience in human resource management and organisational development is expected to further strengthen the council’s industry engagement initiatives.
