Marking the 96th Birth Anniversary of Shri O.P. Jindal Ji (Bauji), the visionary founder of the O.P. Jindal Group, Jindal Foundation organised a voluntary blood donation camp at Hostel-3, Jindal Nagar, Angul, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees of Jindal Steel, their family members, and various stakeholders, resulting in the collection of 460 units of blood that will help save countless precious lives.

The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Mr. V.R. Sharma, Managing Director, Jindal Steel, in the presence of Mr. Damodar Mittal, Executive Director – Projects, Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati, Dr. Satyabrata Patjoshi, In-charge, Odisha Blood Bank, DHH Angul, along with other dignitaries.

Addressing the media on the occasion, V.R. Sharma underscored the significance of voluntary blood donation as a vital social responsibility. He said, "Organising blood donation camps at regular intervals reflects the Jindal Group's commitment to serving society. Blood cannot be manufactured artificially; it can only be donated by one human being to save another. We encourage the younger generation to donate blood regularly. Every healthy man and woman should donate blood at least once or twice a year. We particularly appeal to those below the age of 40 to donate twice annually and become active partners in this noble cause of saving lives."

Recognising the invaluable contribution of regular donors, Sharma felicitated individuals who have consistently participated in the blood donation drives organised by Jindal Foundation, acknowledging their dedication towards strengthening the lifesaving initiative.

On the occasion, Damodar Mittal was also felicitated for his continued participation in every blood donation camp organised by the Foundation. Expressing his gratitude, he said, "It gives me immense satisfaction to contribute to society, especially the people of Angul, through blood donation. I am proud that, as one of the district's leading organisations, we have voluntarily contributed more than 10,000 units of blood over the years. I sincerely thank all the volunteers who have supported this humanitarian initiative."

The voluntary blood donation camp was organised by Jindal Foundation in collaboration with Odisha Blood Bank, DHH Angul. The collection of 460 units of blood stands as another significant milestone in the Foundation's ongoing efforts to support the healthcare system and promote a culture of voluntary blood donation.
