Reliance Jio further cemented its leadership in Odisha's
telecom market by adding the highest number of new mobile and home broadband
subscribers in June 2026, according to the latest telecom subscription data
released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The data showed that Jio added more than 1.13 lakh new mobile
subscribers during the month, accounting for nearly 80 per cent of the total
new wireless subscribers added in the state. The company also added over 15,000
new home broadband subscribers, capturing more than 91 per cent of all new
Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) home broadband additions in Odisha during June.
With the latest additions, Jio further consolidated its
position as Odisha's largest digital service provider across the wireless,
wireline and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segments.
According to the TRAI data, Odisha's total mobile subscriber
base increased by more than 1.41 lakh in June to cross 3.86 crore as of June
30, 2026.
Among telecom operators, Jio recorded the highest net
addition of 1.13 lakh mobile subscribers, far ahead of Vodafone Idea, which
added 16,885 subscribers, and Bharti Airtel, which added 13,633 subscribers
during the month. State-run BSNL, meanwhile, registered a decline of 3,678
mobile subscribers, the data showed.
The latest subscriber additions have further strengthened
Jio's leadership in the state, with its total mobile subscriber base crossing
1.81 crore, the highest among all telecom operators in Odisha.
In the home broadband segment, Jio continued to dominate the
Fixed Wireless Access market through JioAirFiber, with its subscriber base
crossing 4.16 lakh, accounting for around 80 per cent of the state's total FWA
subscribers.
The company added more than 15,000 new home broadband
subscribers during June, taking the combined subscriber base of JioFiber and
JioAirFiber in Odisha to over 7.95 lakh as of June 30, 2026. Jio now has 3.79
lakh JioFiber subscribers and over 4.16 lakh JioAirFiber subscribers in the
state.
The continued growth in both mobile and broadband services
reflects the increasing adoption of Jio's digital connectivity solutions across
Odisha, including in smaller towns and rural areas where the company has
expanded high-speed broadband access through its fibre and wireless broadband
offerings.
At the national level, TRAI data showed that Jio added over
26 lakh subscribers in June 2026, comprising 21.46 lakh new mobile subscribers
and more than 4.9 lakh home broadband subscribers.
The company also recorded the highest growth in active
wireless users during the month, adding 3.33 million active subscribers, the
highest among all telecom operators in the country.
Jio also retained its leadership in the country's 5G Fixed Wireless Access segment with 9.11 million subscribers and remains the only telecom operator providing 5G UBR fixed-wireless services in India.
With its expanding 4G and 5G network, fibre infrastructure and wireless broadband services, Jio continues to strengthen its digital footprint across Odisha while supporting greater digital inclusion in both urban and rural regions, the TRAI data indicated.
