MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 15, 2026

Reliance Jio and Canva on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership to bring Canva’s AI-powered visual communication platform to millions of Jio users across India, seeking to make professional-quality design and creative tools more accessible to students, creators, entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The partnership combines Jio’s extensive digital reach with Canva’s AI-driven creative capabilities, with the two companies aiming to democratise design at scale and enable users to create professional content without requiring prior design experience.

Under the partnership, eligible Jio users will get access to Canva’s premium creative tools free of cost for 12 months. The benefits will depend on the user’s Jio recharge plan, with customers on the Rs 399 plan eligible for Canva Pro, while those on the Rs 349 plan and all plans above Rs 349 offering 2 GB of daily data will receive Canva Pro Lite.

The offer can be claimed through the MyJio application by opening the offer and activating the Canva benefit, with no additional charges involved.

The 12-month Canva offer will go live for users recharging with eligible plans across channels from September 16, 2026.

The collaboration is designed to enable users to create school projects, social media posts, presentations, marketing materials, festival greetings and other visual content directly from their smartphones. Canva’s templates, smart editing features and AI-powered tools are intended to help users move from an initial idea to a finished design within minutes.

The platform also supports Hindi and multiple Indian languages, allowing users to create content in languages they are most comfortable with, the companies said.

“Creativity is one of India’s greatest strengths. Through Canva, we are placing world-class, AI-powered design tools in the hands of millions of Indians - free, and a tap away on MyJio - so every student, creator, entrepreneur and small business can create, learn, grow and earn in a digital-first India, in the language they’re most comfortable with,” said Kiran Thomas, President, Reliance Industries Limited.

Canva Co-Founder and COO Cliff Obrecht said India is among the company’s fastest-growing markets, with local businesses, creators and educators increasingly using the platform to bring their ideas to life.

“Partnering with Jio marks an exciting new chapter in our journey in India, helping bring the power of Canva to millions more people across the country and empowering anyone to create, communicate, and bring their ideas to life,” Obrecht said.

The partnership comes as AI-powered creative and productivity tools gain wider adoption, with businesses, educational institutions and individual creators increasingly relying on digital platforms to produce visual content quickly and cost-effectively.

By combining Jio’s nationwide digital ecosystem with Canva’s creative technology, the companies said they aim to put advanced design capabilities within easier reach of millions of Indians and support greater participation in the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
