Reliance Industries
Director Anant Ambani on Wednesday dedicated the listing of Jio Platforms Ltd
(JPL) to the aspirations of millions of Indians, saying the digital
connectivity platform belongs to the country and reaffirming the group's
commitment to realising the dreams of a digitally empowered nation.
Addressing the
listing ceremony, Ambani expressed gratitude to shareholders, employees,
partners and customers, describing the occasion as a moment of national pride
and invoking the blessings of Hindu deities and Bharat Mata.
“Today, Jio is shared with India,” he said,
adding that the company had become an integral part of the country's digital
aspirations.
Tracing the group's
journey from founder Dhirubhai Ambani's modest beginnings in Chorwad to the
establishment of a world-class refining complex under Mukesh Ambani's
leadership, he said Reliance's growth had been driven by the belief that
Indians could achieve extraordinary goals.
Jio emerged from a
vision of bringing internet connectivity to every hand and extending global
opportunities to every village, he said, crediting his sister Isha Ambani for
sowing the seed of the initiative and brother Akash Ambani for embracing the
vision.
Highlighting the
transformative impact of connectivity, Anant Ambani said Jio helped students
continue learning during the pandemic, enabled families to remain connected
across distances and expanded access to healthcare through digital
consultations.
From small-town
content creators reaching millions to soldiers connecting with their families
from border posts, the platform has made a difference in everyday lives, he
said.
“Jio is not visible, but it beats in every
digital dream of India,” Ambani said, paying tribute to the company's 530
million subscribers.
He also acknowledged
the contribution of field workers, engineers, technicians, service staff,
retail partners and their families, saying the company's achievements were
built on their dedication and hard work.
Ambani thanked Prime
Minister Narendra Modi for his vision of Digital India, saying it had given Jio
a clear purpose and direction.
He said Reliance
would continue pursuing new ambitions while remaining rooted in the values of
its founder, family traditions and humility.
Expressing confidence
in India's future, Ambani said the country's next phase of development would be
driven by its youth and pledged that Reliance would stand at the forefront of
efforts to realise the vision of a developed India.
“Thank you, Bharat. Jio aap ne banaya,” he said, before inviting his elder sister Isha
Ambani to address the gathering.
