Reliance Industries
Director Isha Ambani on Wednesday described the listing of Jio Platforms Ltd
(JPL) as a moment of fulfilment of her grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani’s vision of
making ordinary Indians stakeholders in the country’s economic growth, while
pledging to uphold investor trust with integrity.
Addressing the
listing ceremony of JPL, Isha said the milestone brought the Reliance Group’s
nearly five-decade-old philosophy of public participation in wealth creation
full circle.
Recalling Reliance’s
first public offering in 1977, when the company raised Rs 2.82 crore at a
valuation of Rs 10 crore, she said Dhirubhai had chosen to take the company to
the people rather than a select group of wealthy investors.
“Almost 50 years later, that trust has come
full circle,” she said, thanking investors for placing their faith in the
company and choosing to participate in its growth journey.
Isha said Jio, built
on Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s founding principles of creating genuine customer
value and generating sustainable earnings, had reported revenue of about USD
15.5 billion and earnings of around USD 8 billion this year.
She noted that
achieving such financial scale within just 10 years was a significant
accomplishment, but emphasised that customers remained at the heart of the
business.
“Jio aapne banaya,” she said, acknowledging
the role of customers who welcomed the telecom and digital services company
into their homes, businesses and classrooms.
Describing the
listing as a beginning rather than a culmination, Isha said she, Akash and
Anant Ambani would renew the family’s commitment to investors and customers.
“We will honour your trust with integrity, and
we will keep building,” she said, invoking Dhirubhai’s enduring belief that
“growth is life”.
She also paid tribute
to Mukesh Ambani, crediting his ability to envision new opportunities and build
businesses that expanded possibilities for millions of Indians.
“Different industries. Different decades. The
same faith in India — the same unshakeable conviction that our best is yet to
come,” she said.
Isha acknowledged the
contributions of her brother Akash Ambani, Jio leadership and employees,
describing their dedication as central to the company’s journey.
Concluding her address, she thanked her father for his leadership and invited Akash Ambani, managing director of Jio, to address the gathering.
“Today isn’t a finish line. It’s a promise,” she said.
