Reliance Jio further strengthened its position as Odisha’s leading digital service provider by adding a record 3.27 lakh mobile subscribers in July 2026, more than four times the additions made by its nearest competitor, Airtel, according to the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). With more than 1.85 crore mobile subscribers and over 8 lakh home broadband users in the state, Jio continues to lead Odisha’s wireless, wireline and fixed wireless access (FWA) segments.

According to TRAI data, Jio added 3,27,034 new mobile subscribers in Odisha in July, the highest among all telecom operators. Airtel added 80,405 subscribers, while Vodafone Idea (Vi) added 9,667. BSNL, meanwhile, recorded a decline of 4,707 subscribers.

Jio’s strong subscriber additions contributed significantly to the overall growth of Odisha’s mobile subscriber base, which increased by more than 4.12 lakh during the month. The state’s total wireless subscriber base consequently crossed 3.9 crore.

Jio also continued its strong performance in Odisha’s home broadband segment. The company added around 11,000 JioAirFiber and JioFiber subscribers in July, taking its total home broadband subscriber base in the state to more than 8 lakh.

At the national level, Jio added more than 24 lakh mobile subscribers and over 5 lakh home broadband subscribers in July. Its total home broadband subscriber base in India has now crossed 3 crore. Jio also continues to lead the country’s 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segment with 9.27 million subscribers and remains the sole provider of UBR fixed-wireless services in India.

In Odisha, Jio now has more than 1.85 crore mobile subscribers, giving it a market share of over 47.4% of the state’s approximately 3.9 crore wireless connections. With more than 8 lakh home broadband subscribers, Jio has further consolidated its leadership across the wireless, wireline and FWA segments.

Jio’s expansion has also helped extend high-speed broadband connectivity to thousands of small towns and villages across Odisha’s rural hinterlands, supporting greater digital inclusion and access to online services.

Since its commercial launch in Odisha, Jio has significantly transformed the state’s wireless telecom landscape. From having no reported subscribers in August 2016, the company added 5.8 lakh users in its first month of operations in September 2016. By July 2026, its subscriber base had grown to more than 1.85 crore, representing an absolute increase of around 1.8 crore subscribers over the past decade.
