Reinforcing its
dominant position as Odisha’s leading digital service provider, Reliance Jio
added over 1.88 lakh new mobile and home broadband subscribers in February
2026, according to the latest telecom subscription report released by the
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The strong addition includes more
than 1.74 lakh new mobile subscribers and over 13,600 new home broadband users,
enabling Jio to expand its lead significantly ahead of competitors in the
state. Notably, Jio’s subscriber addition in February was nearly four times
higher than its nearest competitor, underscoring its strong market momentum.
With this impressive
growth, Jio has further consolidated its leadership across wireless, wireline,
and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segments in Odisha, serving the highest 1.75
crore mobile subscribers, along with 3.66 lakh JioFiber and 3.63 lakh
JioAirFiber users. By extending high-speed broadband connectivity to thousands
of villages, Jio continues to accelerate digital inclusion across rural and
semi-urban Odisha, bringing advanced digital services directly to households
and businesses.
TRAI data indicates
that in the wireless segment, Jio recorded the highest net addition of 1,74,810
subscribers, followed by Bharti Airtel with 46,192 subscribers and Vodafone
Idea with 17,067 subscribers, while BSNL saw a decline of 5,532 users during
the period. Overall, Odisha’s total mobile subscriber base increased by over
2.32 lakh in February, crossing 3.77 crore subscribers as of February 28, 2026.
At the national
level, Jio maintained its growth trajectory by adding over 16.24 lakh wireless
subscribers, 1.17 lakh wireline (JioFiber) subscribers, and more than 3.41 lakh
FWA (JioAirFiber) subscribers during the same month.
Backed by
cutting-edge technology, robust network infrastructure, and a strong
customer-first philosophy, Jio continues to play a pivotal role in Odisha’s
digital transformation across both urban centres and remote hinterlands.
JioAirFiber, in particular, has emerged as a game-changer in bridging the
digital divide by overcoming last-mile connectivity challenges and enabling
seamless high-speed broadband access. Offering 800+ TV channels, 11+ OTT apps,
unlimited WiFi, and integrated digital solutions, the platform is empowering
students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and households to fully participate in
India’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
