Odisha’s
leading digital services provider Reliance Jio has further reinforced its
market leadership in the home broadband segment, adding more than 2 lakh new
JioAirFiber subscribers in 2025. According to the latest telecom subscription
data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the total
subscriber base for Jio’s fixed wireless access (FWA) service, JioAirFiber,
surpassed 3.34 lakh in the state as of December 31, 2025.
This figure
includes over 2.87 lakh 5G FWA subscribers and more than 46,000 UBR FWA
subscribers on the Jio network in Odisha. Notably, JioAirFiber added four times
more FWA subscribers than its nearest competitor, Airtel, in Odisha during
2025. TRAI data further reveals that the total FWA subscriber base in the state
expanded sharply, crossing the 4 lakh mark in December 2025, up from around 1.5
lakh in January 2025 — underscoring the rapid adoption of wireless broadband
services.
Backed by
cutting-edge technology, a robust digital infrastructure, and a customer-centric
approach, Jio continues to accelerate Odisha’s digital transformation across
both urban centres and rural hinterlands. JioAirFiber has emerged as a
transformative solution in bridging the digital divide, effectively addressing
last-mile connectivity challenges and bringing reliable broadband access to
homes and small businesses in semi-urban and rural regions. The service offers
seamless high-speed internet connectivity, access to over 800 TV channels, 11+
OTT applications, unlimited WiFi, and a host of other digital benefits — empowering
students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and families to fully participate in
the digital economy.
Jio also
maintained its dominance in the overall home broadband segment in Odisha,
adding more than 26,000 JioFiber and JioAirFiber subscribers in December 2025
alone. The total home broadband subscriber base on the Jio network in the state
rose to over 6.92 lakh as of December 31, 2025. Of this, JioAirFiber accounted
for around 20,000 new additions in December, spanning both Jio 5G FWA and UBR
FWA services.
At the national level, Jio continued to lead the broadband growth trajectory, adding the highest 8.7 lakh broadband subscribers during the period — nearly double the additions recorded by its closest competitor, Airtel.
Jio remains Odisha’s most preferred and No. 1 digital service provider across wireless, wireline, and FWA segments, with a subscriber base exceeding 1.72 crore mobile users, 3.85 lakh JioFiber subscribers, and over 3.34 lakh 5G FWA and UBR FWA subscribers as of December 31, 2025. This sustained growth momentum has been driven by Jio’s expansive 4G and 5G network footprint across the state, enabling seamless connectivity and supporting the state’s fast-evolving digital ecosystem.
