JioFinance has
reintroduced its digital tax planning and income tax return (ITR) filing
platform for the current tax season, offering self-service filing plans
starting at just ₹24
while integrating its JioPoints rewards ecosystem to enhance
customer value.
The platform allows
taxpayers to earn redeemable JioPoints worth up to 25 per cent of their filing
fees, which can be used for brand vouchers, shopping deals and partner offers.
The company said the initiative is designed to make tax compliance more
affordable, convenient and rewarding for millions of taxpayers.
Developed in
partnership with TaxBuddy (SSBA Innovations Ltd), a registered E-Return
Intermediary (ERI), the tax filing module offers both Do-It-Yourself (DIY) and
Expert-Assisted options tailored to different income profiles and filing
complexities. The digital platform enables users to fetch tax data, evaluate
tax regimes, optimise deductions under Sections 80C and 80D, and track return
and refund status without paperwork.
Surbhe S Sharma,
Chief Executive Officer, Jio Finance Platform and Service Limited said: “Our
goal with JioFinance has always been to simplify complex financial tasks and
give users complete control of their financial well-being. With our extremely
accessible and affordable tax module, we are removing the traditional friction
and high costs of ITR filing. Combined with a rewarding JioPoints structure and
a privacy-by-design framework, we are delivering an experience that is not just
efficient, but thoroughly secure and rewarding.”
The company
emphasised that taxpayer data is processed exclusively within TaxBuddy's
regulated and encrypted framework solely for income tax return filing, with
JioFinance stating that it does not access or use customer tax data for any
other purpose.
Commenting on the collaboration, Srinivas Reddy, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, TaxBuddy said: "This partnership with JioFinance will enable ordinary Indians to file their taxes seamlessly, securely, and with confidence, powered by TaxBuddy’s regulated ERI framework.”
The JioFinance app offers a range of pricing options based on income levels and filing requirements. DIY salary filing plans begin at ₹24 for taxpayers earning up to ₹3 lakh annually, while expert-assisted services start at ₹649 for salaried individuals with one house property. Plans are also available for business income, capital gains, non-resident Indians (NRIs), foreign income and futures and options (F&O) traders.
